NRE Spring Workshop 2003
Atelier du printemps de la NÉR, 2003

Ferintosh, Alberta

May 1st to 3rd 2003

The NRE2 Steering Committee met in February and discussed the Spring Workshop and came up with the following goals for the workshop.

The three goals for the spring meeting are

1. planning for NRE2 and the upcoming field season

2. communication within the group

3. facilitating the regular preparation of journal articles.

We are still committed to the idea of a publishable paper as a ticket to this event.

To reiterate, this format is in response to the need to get our research into academic journals in a timely manner

Papers for Review - March 31, 2003 - I have three papers in hand - still waiting and hoping to receive a few more by the weekend.

Review by two other members of the team - April 14 to ?????

Submission of revised paper to Diane for copying prior to the workshop - Not feasible

Each of you attending will be expected to prepare an 8 minute presentation about the 'COOL STUFF' you intend to work on that builds on your paper and answers the following questions.

1. What is exciting about your paper / research?

2. Where will you go with it?

3. What are the implications of your research findings for community capacity?

Your presentations should not be a reiteration of your paper which was sent for review

. We have decided not to invite another "rural expert" to this year's meeting due to the need for project planning

The participants in this workshop will be the NRE Researchers and students involved in the research. The students who are supported to come to this workshop will have assigned duties to preform at the workshop.
